Campaign for appropriate planning of Pune University campus
Pune University's New Administrative Building In 19xx Pune University had prepared plans for constructing its new administrative building right opposite the Victorian structure that was once the summer residence of the Governor of Mumbai. This would have not only destroyed the carefully designed landscaping of the University Campus but axed many healthy full grown trees.
Mobilizing citizens groups and the local media, Parisar played a key role in making a strong representation to the Governor of Maharashtra Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Idris Latif who in his capacity as the Governor was also the Chancellor of Pune University.
Fortunately, convinced by the representation of the citizens, Governor requested the University authorities to change the location of the new building and in the process saved one of the most important heritage buildings in the city.
