Description: A digital communications strategist will be in charge of identifying communications (digital and offline) and social media strategies for issues Parisar works on. Using the latest digital marketing strategies, they will need to foster issue awareness and engagement across a wide spectrum of audiences.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead initiatives which seek to disseminate the work of Parisar to intended target groups or the larger public in ways which are engaging and relevant to changing times. Developing digital communication strategies, campaigns, and advocacy plans and coordinating their implementation.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of the strategies and campaigns used on the various platforms.
- Working with other members of the Parisar team as well as partners in different cities to produce fully integrated online and offline campaigns. The digital element of these campaigns could include emailers, creating and providing content for online news portals, and for Parisar and the networks it is part of and their social media channels such Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and websites.
- Managing content for the Parisar website, along with websites being managed by Parisar for different networks.
- Handling newsletters for Parisar and Road Safety Network.

Personal
- High level of interest and commitment to sustainable environment and liveable cities; an inclination to know and communicate more around related topics.
- Comfort in interacting with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent English language communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing; Marathi and Hindi language ability advantageous if possible
- Close attention to detail
- Strong ability to comprehend and distill complex ideas into accessible and succinct content
- A proactive and self-starter approach to work
Technical
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office; ability to use photo and video-editing software is an asset
- Experience in copywriting and editing with a high standard of English. Marathi and Hindi language ability advantageous if possible
- A working understanding of communications tools like Slack, Zoom, Google Suite, MailChimp, etc
- High level of comfort with social media and blog platforms, including back-end features and content creation

Qualifications
- Degree in Media and Mass Communication, Social or Political Sciences, Humanities or English Literature, or a related subject
- Approximately 2-5 years of work experience in a similar job profile
Specifics
In the normal course, the role requires working from Parisar’s office in Pune, and could involve some travel to field offices and outposts in different cities of Maharashtra and India.
